Sarah and Ben

Koonyum Range Retreat

Byron Bay Hinterland

Tucked away, way way up on an escarpment with a shear drop overlooking the hills from Wilson’s Creek across the flats, over Mullumbimby and out to the ocean, is a magical little location known as Koonyum Range.  It’s up there as one of our favorite venues, and Sarah and Ben’s wedding just added another great experience for us on this amazing property.

There were dark clouds looming and an early shower laid a little bit of worry on everyone’s mind.  As Sarah stepped out of the house to walk down the stairs to the pergola beside the infinity edge pool, the sun came out. There was glistening mist all through the air, it literally looked like fairy dust had been let loose in the gentle breeze.  It was one of those wonderful wedding moments that just couldn’t be planned.

As they went off for their photos in the gorgeous surrounding bush, we had a mini version of our Mezze Spread packed for them in a little picnic basket.  It looked even better than the larger version which the guests got to enjoy while they mingled and awaited their return.

Everyone was spread around the pool and the lawn for the canapes, before sitting down for a feasting dinner under the amazing Nomadic Tent that stretched up and over the entire patio area.  It had amazing shadows and light from the surrounding foliage throwing itself over the tent.

Lots of celebrating, dancing, and even some late night swimming in the pool, all turned this into a wedding for us to remember.

It was a beautiful wedding and a beautiful couple that were such a pleasure to work with and take care of on their special day.
